Developers seeking to increase urbanization of the scenic Cross Timbers Conservation Development District regularly resurface a myth about septic system contamination in this area.  In 2006 Voters United to Preserve Flower Mound attended 32 meetings, usually as the only residents in attendance.  This is what they  submitted to the Master Plan Update Steering Committee when the myth resurfaced at that time.  It resurfaced again in the 2013 Master Plan Update and in 2016 it has resurfaced again.
