When Special Interests Comply With Community Standards

The DeLuca Administration was in office from 1998-2004 and successfully negotiated with new business to bring projects that reflected community desires and  character.  At the time, Direct Development was a willing partner - shown here. During the Hayden administration, however, it assumed a different viewpoint.  Rather than comply with the Master Plan, Direct Development sought a Major Master Plan amendment, and with the help of Town Council, a local publication, and a former town council woman, negatively portrayed the directly-impacted Rippy Road homeowner group.  Eventually, Direct Development got all it wanted.
